The project consists of the design and construction of an air traffic control tower, all associated utilities and infrastructure including site work, fire protection/suppression, fire pump building, water storage and distribution, sewage collection system, primary power and backup power generation and distribution, communications infrastructure, and access roads and parking located at Taji Air Base, Iraq. The Air traffic control tower will be nine levels high, including the prefabricated ATC Cab (Level 9).  Levels 1 (ground) through 8 will each be approximately 57 square meters (614 square feet) net area.

Work included:

  1. Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT): An ATCT shall be designed as a pre-engineered metal building complete with a freight elevator shall be provided to service the first eight levels of the tower (Ground Floor thru Seventh Floor). 
  • Ground Floor: Entry Vestibule, Mechanical/Electrical Room, Electrical Equipment Maintenance Room, Tele-Communications Room (with vault), Elevator, Janitor’s Closet, Male Toilet Room
  • First Floor: VFR Tower Simulator Room, Tele-Communications Closet
  • Second Floor: Training Room, Tele-Communications Closet
  • Third Floor: Chief Controller Office, Administration Offices, Tele-Communications Closet
  • Fourth Floor: Weather Operations Room, Administration Offices, Tele-Communications Closet
  • Fifth Floor: Break Room with Kitchenette, Tele-Communications Closet
  • Sixth Floor: ATC Communications Equipment Room
  • Seventh Floor: ATC Cab Mechanical Room, Tele-Communications Closet
  • Eighth Floor: ATC Cab
  1. Backup Power Generator complete with Fuel tank and Sunshade.
  2. Fire Pump Buildings: One (1) Fire Pump Building shall be designed with an approximate minimum net area of 78 square meters. The exterior building envelope shall consist of a concrete frame with reinforced masonry in-fill walls.  The exterior building envelope shall be painted stucco; color to be determined.  The building roof shall consist of concrete pavers and ballast. Roof drainage shall be provided.
  3. Parking, concrete pad suitable for 20 cars complete with Sunshades.
  4. Supply all materials to connect the buildings to main 11kV overhead power lines complete will Transformers, Panels and cables.
  5. Supply all materials to connect the buildings to main sewers collection system, including, manholes, lift stations and all fixtures and fittings.
  6. Supply all materials to connect the buildings to main Potable Water system, including, water tanks, pumps and all fixtures and fittings
  7. Design, supply and install communication network for connection to the communication grid.
